Finally, all was in place and we had our French Visa interview in Frankfurt. We risked taking the train - DB has a nasty reputation for being late and cancelling trains - but we made on time. The interview was uneventful - except that they only took cash. Kathy made a dash to an ATM and all was OK. Except - Stu did not quite get the train reservations right on the way back. He made them a day later than the day we traveled - a fact we did not notice until the next day. We got on the train a day early - jumped in our assigned seats and zipped back to Munich. Luckily no one checked our tickets during the return journey. We only noticed tha error, when Stu started to get SMSs the next day saying it was time to go to your train.
